Is there one genre of music that is more censored than another? Some would argue yes and immediately look at rap, which does tend to be censored more. This however has nothing to do with the genre as a whole. Research showed that all artists and genres have had incidents when they were censored as well. The Beatles were kicked off BBC for their smash hit "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." Just as country singer Garth Brooks music video "The Thunder Rolls" was banned from TNN and CMT for the domestic violence it portrayed. These are two genres that normally one wouldn't think would be censored yet they were held under the same scrutiny as the genres they compete with. There are of course some artists that are more censored than others. Eminem has a parental warning sticker on all of his albums where someone isn't as likely to find this on many Tim McGraw albums. The genre and the censorship don't directly correlate though. There was no study that proved that one genre was being set to a higher standard than any of the others.
